About Ingredion:

Join Ingredion, where innovation impacts lives worldwide! Without even realizing it, you’ve experienced our work in your favorite chocolate, your pet’s food, the paper you write on, and your everyday snacks. As a global powerhouse across more than 60 industries, we harness the potential of natural ingredients to transform lives. Whether you’re just starting your career or bringing years of experience, there's a place for you here to make a real difference. Be part of our team that values a wide range of perspectives and is committed to shaping a better world with every product we create.

As a Sr. Category Marketing Manager, you’ll strategically lead a diverse product portfolio—crafting clear value propositions, driving growth, and empowering sales teams with actionable insights. You’ll collaborate across functions to deliver seamless commercial execution, engage directly with customers to convert opportunities, and translate global strategy into impactful regional plans.

Following the recent repositioning of our US/Canada Marketing team as a proactive growth engine, enabling strategic planning, innovation, and consistent brand experiences, this is your chance to make a measurable impact, operate with autonomy, and champion innovation in a high-visibility role.

What you will do:

Category & Segment Strategy (Global + Regional)
- Shape and execute a **global category strategy** by representing US/Canada market needs in cross-functional global teams.
- Translate strategy into **regional category roadmaps**, including technical and innovation priorities.
- Define **where to play/how to win** across sub-segments, applications, and customer targets in savory.

Business Reporting, Insights & Profitability
- Lead consistent **category reporting**, budget planning, and forecasting.
- Analyze **profitability, pricing, and portfolio performance** to identify growth opportunities and guide investment decisions.
- Build market sizing, segmentation, and trend narratives using customer, category, and competitive intelligence.

Customer Growth & Commercial Enablement
- Engage directly with key customers to deepen market understanding, validate needs, and support solution development.
- Partner with Sales to expand the **opportunity pipeline**, improve conversion, and support targeted prospecting for “must-win” accounts.
- Create and deliver **sales enablement tools** (value propositions, messaging frameworks, pitch decks, application stories, competitive positioning).
- Collaborate with digital/go-to-market teams to run **demand generation campaigns** that drive qualified leads and commercial traction.

Innovation & Launch Excellence
- Consolidate customer insights to prioritize the **innovation pipeline** and build business cases.
- Coordinate new product launches with global partners, ensuring clear value propositions backed by consumer insights and competitive analysis.
- Lead cross-functional teams (Sales, R&D, Applications, Technical, Supply Chain) to deliver annual growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years’ experience in category, segment or strategic marketing leadership roles preferably in B2B food ingredients or adjacent solution‑driven categories

  • Some familiarity with category or adjacent category knowledge – if category knowledge limited than strong synergistic ingredient knowledge

  • Demonstrated ownership of categories, segments, or portfolios with clear commercial accountability

  • Experience supporting new category development, innovation pipelines, and growth initiatives rather than only mature portfolios

  • Comfortable being measured on pipeline, conversion, and growth, not awareness or reach

  • Thinks in terms of where to play / how to win, not only campaigns

  • Experience operating in regional and global matrixed organizations

  • Proven track record working closely with Sales, Innovation/R&D, and technical teams

  • Strong exposure to consultative selling environments

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and live problem-solving
