  • Are you someone who has the confidence to build relationships with senior executives and business owners?
  • Do you want to be part of a growing company with many opportunities to expand your ambitious career aspirations?

JOB OVERVIEW

Responsible for managing a multi-faceted business development process to generate acquisition opportunities in the payments vertical for Vesta Software Group in Central and Eastern Europe and the wider Balkans region, with a specific focus on Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and the Balkan markets including Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, and Greece. Reporting directly to the Payments Solutions Portfolio Leader, the ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, driven, focused, and dynamic individual with effective business-to-business sales skills. This position requires a confident, organized, and business-minded person who can generate and nurture long-term leads and prospects within the rapidly growing CEE and Balkans tech ecosystem.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct industry and competitive research to identify vertical market software businesses across Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and the broader CEE and Balkans region — including Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, and Greece — that meet our investment criteria and specific metrics.
  • Engage with target business owners, shareholders, and senior executives regarding the potential acquisition of their business and guide them through the sales process. For example, this involves day-to-day activities such as cold outreach, scheduling introductory calls, and presenting Vesta's value proposition to founders of local software companies.
  • Develop and grow a deal pipeline through outbound sales efforts, attendance at regional trade shows and industry events across CEE and the Balkans, broker road shows, and engaging regularly with existing leads in our database.
  • Maintain the group's deal funnel, prospect information, and reporting in our proprietary Salesforce database.
  • Make recommendations to the senior leadership team of Vesta for potential strategies and initiatives to identify new prospects that meet our strategic criteria and specific metrics, based on our aggressive appetite for accelerated growth across CEE and the Balkans.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of Sales or Business Development experience, ideally with exposure to the Central and Eastern European market and/or the Balkans.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success in cold calling, prospecting, and sales processes.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to plan own work schedule, to set and monitor personal performance goals.
  • Degree in business administration, business, or a related area of study or equivalent is an asset.
  • Prior software experience in a business-to-business environment is an asset.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Have a positive attitude and work ethic, with a strong drive for results.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task between various on-going responsibilities.
  • Strong integrity and trustworthiness, with the ability to manage sensitive information and relationships with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and software businesses is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM is an asset.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and at least one key regional language (Romanian, Hungarian, Czech, Serbian, Croatian, Bulgarian, or Greek) is a must. Additional European languages are a plus, but not a pre-requisite.
