Who this fits

You’ll suit this entry-level sales role if you are competitive, self-directed, comfortable with prospecting and willing to test and improve your approach. You must be located in the United States, and SimpliGov does not currently sponsor work visas. The role includes coaching on government technology sales and a path toward regional sales executive and sales leadership positions.

From the employer

About Us:
SimpliGov is a workflow automation platform built for state and local government agencies, helping program teams design, run, and improve their own operations without relying on IT or outside
consultants. By replacing manual, email-and-spreadsheet-driven processes with structured, visible workflows, SimpliGov helps agencies retain institutional knowledge, improve service delivery, and prepare for AI-ready operations.
We are growing rapidly and looking for talented, high-impact players to join our team!

The Role:
SimpliGov is seeking to hire a Sales Development Representative (SDR) responsible for prospecting and generating qualified outbound leads for our Sales Executives. The ideal candidate is results driven, possesses strong and natural sales talents, and is committed to creating new business
opportunities.

This position is an entry-level role within the Sales team and reports to the Senior Manager, Sales Development. Significant opportunities are available in terms of compensation (no cap on
commissions) and a career path to a regional sales executive role.

What You'll Actually Do:
• Build target account lists with real context. Understand the operational problem before you
pick up the phone.
• Develop a thorough knowledge of the SimpliGov platform, and value proposition.
• Deploy workflows in Gong and Salesforce. Measure conversion at each stage. Change what
doesn't work. Iterate.
• Maintain a sufficient volume of outbound activities to achieve or exceed your monthly quota of
scheduled meetings and qualified opportunities.
• Qualify prospects on initial conversation. Surface real pain. Understand procurement. Hand off
qualified ops to our RSD team.
• Share what you learn from conversations with our sales leadership. Help shape messaging. See
your insights drive better campaigns.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Go-getters with 1-2+ years of SDR or outbound sales development experience. You're competitive.
You know your numbers. You test ideas and iterate.
  • Proven experience in generating 80%+ of opportunities through cold outbound prospecting.
  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant working experience.
  • You're not satisfied with 'following the process.' You own your pipeline and take initiative on what
works. You're comfortable operating independently inside a clear framework.
  • Comfortable, confident & professional in contacting potential customers
  • Prior experience using Salesforce, Gong, Starbridge, etc. (or other Sales automation/intent and CRM
    systems).
  • Outstanding written, verbal & presentation skills.
  • Must be located in the U.S

Why This Role:
You'll work alongside experienced RSDs who will coach you on the craft of selling government
technology. You'll see your pipeline convert to real deals. You'll have visibility into what closes and
why.
You're not invisible. Your work matters. Your conversion metrics matter. Your ideas on messaging
matter.

Qualifications:
• 1-2 years of SDR or outbound sales development experience.
• Experience with Salesforce, email outreach tools, and CRM systems preferred.
• Highly motivated, self-starting individual who takes initiative on prospecting.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be located in the U.S.

What We Offer:
• OTE: $90K
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance (employer contributions for employees and dependents)
• Company-sponsored life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance
• 401K with 4% employer match
• Flexible paid time-off
• 11 paid holidays
• Health club membership
• Clear SDR training on government sales, SimpliGov's platform, and our go-to-market strategy
• Real path to RSD and sales leadership roles
