  • Experience establishing or expanding product marketing operations and cross-functional ways of working
  • Hands-on leadership of analyst relations, including briefings and inquiry management
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across executive, product, and sales teams; scientific experience is preferred

Who this fits

You’ll fit this role if you can shape how a market understands technical products and turn scientific, customer, and executive perspectives into one clear story. The role is remote in the United States and operates within a global, fast-moving team. You’ll build the function from a blank page, with responsibility expected to grow into team leadership over time.

From the employer

Albert helps chemists change the world by building technology that understands how they work. As chemists ourselves, we know what it’s like when software doesn’t work the way you do — stuck with systems built by people who never spent a day at the bench. That’s why we created Albert OS, the first AI-native operating system for materials science, designed to remove every obstacle between curiosity and discovery.

We’re looking for an ambitious and results-driven Director, Product Marketing to join our growing team. This role is focused on building Albert’s category narrative, owning the end-to-end launch strategy for Albert OS, and defining the product marketing function from the ground up.

If you’re passionate about cutting-edge technology and thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, we want to hear from you.

What you'll do

Strategy & Delivery

  • Define and own Albert’s category narrative and market positioning, establishing Albert OS as a distinct category — not a better LIMS, not a smarter ELN, but an AI-native operating system that changes how materials science R&D works.
  • Develop and own the executive narrative that Albert’s CEO presents at major industry events, articulating the future of chemistry as a discipline and how Albert’s product vision makes that future real.
  • Define and execute product launch GTM strategy end-to-end, from messaging and positioning through launch timing, channel activation, and post-launch measurement.
  • Lead Analyst Relations programs and build Albert’s presence with key industry analysts and influencers in the materials science and R&D software space.

Execution & Collaboration

  • Develop first-call messaging and sales enablement materials that equip the commercial team to articulate Albert’s value proposition with precision and confidence across scientific and business audiences.
  • Partner closely with Product, Sales, and Forward Deployed Science teams to ensure market messaging reflects real partner outcomes and the full capabilities of the Albert OS platform.

Leadership & Impact

  • Build Albert’s product marketing function from the ground up, establishing the processes, playbooks, and infrastructure needed to support a scaling GTM organization, with the expectation of growing and leading a team over time.
  • Serve as the internal authority on competitive positioning and market narrative, influencing roadmap conversations, GTM priorities, and executive communications across the organization.
  • Represent Albert at industry events, analyst briefings, and partner-facing forums, translating Albert’s scientific credibility into compelling public presence.

You will have

  • 10+ years of marketing experience, with significant tenure in senior or lead product marketing roles at B2B technology companies.
  • Demonstrated ownership of category creation or repositioning, including messaging, positioning, and narrative development for technical products entering or defining new markets.
  • Experience building or scaling a product marketing function, including the processes, playbooks, and cross-functional relationships that make it work.
  • A track record of managing Analyst Relations programs, including analyst briefings and inquiry management.
  • Background in chemistry, life sciences, or an adjacent scientific domain strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft executive-level narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across Product, Sales, and Executive teams in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.

Key Competencies

Innovator: Passionate about shaping how a market thinks, not just how a product is described.

Systems Thinking: Ability to connect product vision, customer outcomes, and market narrative into a coherent, differentiated story.

Grit: Self-starter and persistent problem solver, relentless in building something new from a blank page.

Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including executive stakeholders.

Empathy: Deep listener across scientific, commercial, and executive personas; translates diverse perspectives into unified messaging.

Leadership: Ability to drive high-visibility initiatives and shape organizational priorities with limited oversight.
