Senior Paid Media Manager

Location: Remote — United States
Compensation: $90,000–$100,000, depending on experience

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Paid Media Manager to join a small, highly technical, fully remote digital media agency. This is an opportunity for a performance marketer who enjoys being close to the work — developing strategy, managing paid media campaigns, analyzing performance, communicating directly with clients, and getting hands-on inside advertising platforms.

This is not a role where strategy gets handed off to someone else for execution. You’ll be expected to think strategically and execute tactically, moving comfortably between high-level media strategy, campaign optimization, data analysis, and client conversations.

Our team is intentionally small and flat, which means your work will have a meaningful impact. You’ll work with a select group of higher-touch client accounts and have significant ownership over their paid media performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute multi-channel paid media strategies aligned with client business and performance goals.
  • Manage and optimize paid advertising campaigns across Google Ads, Meta Ads, and other digital advertising platforms.
  • Make informed decisions about budget allocation across channels based on campaign performance and overall business objectives.
  • Analyze campaign and business performance to determine where media investment should increase, decrease, or shift.
  • Optimize campaigns for metrics such as ROAS, CAC, CPL, CPA, conversion volume, and overall business performance.
  • Build, launch, troubleshoot, and optimize campaigns directly within advertising platforms.
  • Evaluate performance across channels rather than viewing Google, Meta, and other platforms in isolation.
  • Use campaign data to identify opportunities, diagnose performance issues, and make recommendations.
  • Build and maintain reporting using Excel, Google Sheets, Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Work directly with clients to communicate performance, recommendations, strategy, and results.
  • Turn complex performance marketing concepts and data into clear, concise recommendations that clients can understand and act on.
  • Collaborate with a small team of experienced marketers in a highly technical, low-bureaucracy environment.
  • Stay close to both the strategy and execution of campaigns from planning through optimization and reporting.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a sophisticated performance marketer who combines strong paid search and paid social expertise, analytical ability, hands-on campaign management, and excellent communication skills.

Experience & Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Ads / paid search AND Meta Ads / paid social.
  • Experience developing and executing multi-channel paid media strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to make strategic budget allocation decisions across multiple paid media channels.
  • Experience managing meaningful paid media budgets and making decisions that directly impact campaign and business performance.
  • Current or recent hands-on experience working directly inside advertising platforms — not solely managing people or agencies that execute campaigns.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Advanced comfort with Excel or Google Sheets, including functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, or similar tools.
  • Experience working with reporting and visualization platforms such as Looker Studio, Tableau, or Power BI is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret campaign data independently and translate it into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong client communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to explain complex marketing and performance concepts simply, directly, and without unnecessary jargon.
  • Approximately 3+ years of relevant experience is a good starting point, but we care more about the depth and quality of your experience than a specific number of years.

Additional Paid Media Experience Is a Plus

Experience across additional channels such as:

  • YouTube
  • Display advertising
  • Programmatic
  • CTV
  • Full-funnel performance marketing
  • Attribution and measurement

is highly valued.

You’ll Thrive Here If You…

  • Enjoy working with complex performance marketing challenges and meaningful media budgets.
  • Like being both the strategist and the person in the platforms making things happen.
  • Naturally dig into the data instead of waiting for someone else to tell you what it means.
  • Can look across multiple channels and understand how they work together.
  • Are comfortable challenging assumptions with data.
  • Can move from an Excel spreadsheet to a client strategy conversation without missing a beat.
  • Prefer a small, collaborative team over a highly layered organization.
  • Communicate with smart brevity — you can make complicated things easier to understand.
  • Take ownership and are comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
  • Value technical expertise as much as presentation and client relationships.

Why This Role Is Different

At many agencies, seniority means moving farther away from campaign execution. That’s not the case here.

You’ll have the opportunity to own meaningful client strategy while staying close to the platforms, data, and decisions that drive results. Because the team is small and the client relationships are high-touch, your expertise will be visible and your recommendations will directly influence business outcomes.

If you’re a hands-on Senior Paid Media Manager, Performance Marketing Manager, Paid Search Manager, Paid Social Manager, or digital advertising strategist who wants to work on sophisticated campaigns without getting buried in layers of management, this could be a great fit.
