You'll suit a confident relationship-builder who can work independently while partnering with senior leaders and multidisciplinary teams. The role is based in Sheffield and runs for 37.5 hours weekly, mainly Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 17.00. Evening or weekend work may be needed for events and other business needs.

Are you an experienced healthcare Business Development professional with a proven track record of engaging consultants, driving growth and developing successful hospital partnerships?
Spire Claremont Hospital is seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Business Development Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering our growth strategy and strengthening relationships with our consultant community.
This is a highly visible and influential role, ideal for someone who has experience as a Waiting List or Theatre Co-ordinator, or someone who understands the dynamics of the private healthcare sector and has experience working closely with consultants, clinicians, referrers and key stakeholders to grow activity and develop new business opportunities.
About the Role
As Business Development Manager, you will act as a key link between the hospital, consultants and the wider business development function. Working closely with the Hospital Director, Business Development Director and Senior Management Team, you will help identify opportunities for growth, support consultant engagement initiatives and drive commercial performance across the hospital.
You will become a trusted partner to our consultants, helping them expand and develop their practices within the hospital while ensuring they receive a first-class experience from Spire.
This role complements our established Hub Business Development team, which provides expertise across marketing, digital, PR, referrer engagement and sales.
What You'll Be Doing
- Building and developing strong relationships with existing and prospective consultants.
- Acting as a visible presence within the hospital, proactively identifying opportunities to improve consultant engagement and increase activity.
- Supporting consultants with practice development opportunities, PMI network participation and digital growth initiatives.
- Conducting consultant business reviews alongside hospital leaders to identify growth opportunities across specialties, insurers and referral networks.
- Working collaboratively with operational and clinical teams to enhance consultant satisfaction and hospital performance.
- Supporting the delivery of the hospital's growth strategy through targeted business development initiatives.
- Promoting the use of digital channels, online booking platforms and other business development tools that drive patient acquisition and activity growth.
- Identifying emerging market opportunities and supporting the successful implementation of new services and pathways.
About You
We're looking for a confident relationship-builder who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and understands how to influence and engage consultants.
You will ideally have:
- Proven Business Development experience ideally within a private hospital, healthcare provider or NHS environment, although not essential
- Experience building productive relationships with consultants, surgeons and clinical stakeholders.
- Demonstrable success in driving activity growth and supporting commercial objectives.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and networking skills.
- Strong analytical and commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver results.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior leaders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organisation and project management skills.
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week – predominantly Monday – Friday 09.00 – 17.00, however there may be requirements for evening/weekend working depending on business needs, such as events etc.
