Position Summary

The Social Media Planner manages and evolves CHANEL’s presence across X and LINE, with primary responsibility for one or both platforms depending on business needs and expertise.

This role combines ownership of CHANEL’s X and/or LINE activities with social intelligence responsibilities across the broader digital landscape. The Social Media Planner develops content and channel strategies, coordinates campaign execution, and continuously improves performance in collaboration with key stakeholders.

The role also analyzes social conversations, consumer trends, and Share of Voice, translating insights into actionable recommendations that strengthen brand visibility, desirability, engagement, and communication effectiveness.

The role requires both operational excellence and strategic thinking, with the ability to influence communication strategy, content development, and channel evolution through insight-driven recommendations and collaboration with local and global stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Operations

  • Manage platform content calendar, publishing operations, and campaign execution in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Monitor performance, identify key learnings, and provide stakeholders with clear recommendations on improvements, optimization opportunities, and successful initiatives to scale.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Marketing, CRM, PR, Paid Media, Global teams, and agencies to deliver integrated social media initiatives.
  • Build alignment across stakeholders to ensure effective execution and continuous improvement.

Content Strategy & Editorial Development

  • Develop and evolve content pillars for CHANEL's accounts to strengthen brand storytelling, increase engagement, and generate brand-related conversations.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the role and impact of X and LINE within CHANEL's communication ecosystem and translate social and consumer insights into actionable recommendations.

X Growth & Paid Amplification

  • Lead organic and paid amplification initiatives to strengthen account health, increase brand-related conversations, and expand CHANEL's Share of Voice on X.
  • Identify and recommend activation opportunities that enhance the visibility, engagement, and overall impact of CHANEL's presence on the platform.

Social Listening & Share of Voice Analysis

  • Monitor consumer conversations, social trends, sentiment, and CHANEL's Share of Voice across Digital & Social Media.
  • Deliver insight-driven reporting and strategic recommendations to identify opportunities for brand equity growth, communication optimization, and increased Share of Voice.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in Social Media, Digital Marketing, Communications, PR, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of X, LINE, and broader social media ecosystems.
  • Experience with social listening and social analytics platforms.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Native-level Japanese communication skills and business-level English proficiency.

Preferred

  • Experience in luxury, beauty, fashion, or premium consumer brands.
  • Experience managing paid social campaigns and content amplification.
  • Experience with CRM-related communications or owned-channel management.
  • Interest in AI, emerging technologies, and evolving digital communication trends.
