From the employer
Social Media Manager
Full-Time | On-Site | Chris Loves Julia
About Us
Chris Loves Julia is a leading home renovation and lifestyle brand with an engaged audience of over 1.4M across platforms. We produce daily content spanning DIY projects, interior styling, affiliate storytelling, and brand partnerships — all through a lens of authenticity, warmth, and experimentation. We’re building a smart, passionate team to support our continued growth across digital platforms and product lines, including our spice brand Hey Old Sport and our licensing collaborations.
The Role
We’re looking for a full-time Social Media Manager who lives and breathes digital culture and understands how to capture, shape, and ship compelling daily content — not just plan it.
This person will own the day-to-day execution of our social strategy across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, Threads, and emerging platforms — including on-site mobile video capture, directing talent when needed (Chris, Julia, or guests), and editing short-form content for real-time publishing.
The ideal candidate is equal parts creative storyteller, hands-on content producer, organized project manager, and data-driven strategist. You know what makes people stop scrolling — and you care about building long-term community, not just chasing trends.
Responsibilities
Content Capture, Production & Publishing
- Film spontaneous and planned content on mobile (Reels/TikTok-style)
- Confidently direct and prompt talent when capturing behind-the-scenes or talking-head content
- Edit daily footage into polished short-form pieces using native in-app tools or CapCut/Adobe Express
- Own the content calendar and manage posting schedules, metadata, tagging, and cross-platform formatting
- Draft captions, write hooks, and repurpose long-form content into snackable assets
Community Engagement
- Monitor comments, DMs, tags, and mentions — respond in-brand and escalate when needed
- Cultivate relationships with followers, creators, and brand partners
- Track brand sentiment and trending conversations in real time
Strategy & Growth
- Identify opportunities for rapid content (trends, cultural moments)
- Optimize SEO keywords, metadata, and video structure for discoverability
- Analyze platform insights weekly and report actionable takeaways
Partnership & Campaign Support
- Assist with brand collaborations by drafting social deliverables and packaging analytics for recaps
Innovation & Experimentation
- Pitch new series, content formats, or creator collaborations
- Keep a pulse on algorithm changes, platform updates, and competitive benchmarks
Qualifications
- 3+ years managing and producing social content for a brand, creator, or publication
- Proven experience filming and editing for Reels and TikTok (please include samples)
- Comfortable directing real people (not models) in informal, in-the-moment capture settings
- Excellent writing skills — witty, warm, and adaptable to brand voice
- Experience using analytics tools (Meta Insights, TikTok Analytics, Later, or similar)
- Strong organization and communication skills; comfortable working in Asana and Slack
- Bonus: Experience in home, lifestyle, or creator/influencer-facing brands
What Success Looks Like
- Consistent, on-brand presence across platforms
- Growth in reach, saves, shares, and meaningful engagement
- Faster turnarounds on content tied to cultural moments
- Community that feels spoken with, not spoken to
